The Red River Valley flood

The Red River in down town Grand Forks on March 21 ~ 24 ~ and 27 ~
All taken at the same spot.

I live in the Red River Valley, north of both Fargo (80 miles) and Grand Forks (about 27 to 30 miles) away. We live out in the country about 12 miles away from the Red River, on the MN side. So far we are safe. We had our normal cross country spring water.
But my husband works on the ND side of the river. He has to cross the river at one of the three bridges in Grand Forks... Two of the three bridges are now closed. The third may close this weekend. And the main road to Grand Forks from our house is now closed with water over it... He left for work this morning with his bags packed. He won't be home now till the river goes down. He is going to stay at work over night now...

The girls and I will be ok, if we need anything we can shop on the MN side.

It's kind'a relief he is staying at work. It was taking him longer and longer to find a safe way home with all the water over roads. Now I don't have to worry when he is on the road. The norm to drive into work is 50 min. The past few times it has been around an hour and a half.

And yes he is needed at work. His boss is in the National Gard and he is down in Fargo working the flood fight. My husband is doing his job now at work. Among all the things he will be doing he is also over~ seeing a flood rescue pets center.
